The Central Bank of Ireland decided to issue a collector’s set containing both the gold and silver coins boxed together. A maximum issue of 5,000 pieces was allocated to the double set. The coins used for production of this set were taken from the issue limits originally set for the gold and silver coins. The certificates of authenticity used for the Samuel Beckett Collector coin sets were numbered 1-20,000 for the gold coin and 1-35,000 for the silver coin. The certificates set aside for use in the double boxed set numbered 5,001 to 10,000 and were taken from the original allocation of gold and silver certificates.
